A global platform for human behavioral evolutionary science: Introducing Evolutionary Dynamics of Human Behavior

Abstract

Evolutionary Dynamics of Human Behavior (EDHB) is a new international journal dedicated to advancing evolutionary approaches to the human mind and behavior. It emerges in response to ongoing conceptual, methodological, metascientific, and disciplinary transformations in the field. EDHB aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum connecting evolutionary psychology, human behavioral ecology, cultural evolution, philosophy, and related areas, while promoting stronger dialogue between empirical research and philosophical analysis. Created in the Global South but explicitly global in scope, the journal treats geographical, cultural, and intellectual diversity as integral to scientific progress and theory development. It also adopts open science, transparency, methodological rigor, and constructive peer review as core editorial commitments. EDHB seeks to complement existing publication venues by creating a space in which diverse research traditions, populations, questions, and explanatory frameworks can interact in the development of a more pluralistic evolutionary science of human behavior.
