Mateo Córdoba-Delgado

Research Assistant 2018 - 2021

Pontificia Universidad Javeriana

I first came to know Mateo in 2017 while he was a student on the Medicine programme at Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. Mateo was already working with Hernando Santamaría García, showing a clear interest in psychiatry, neuroscience and behavioural sciences. He approached me during an invited talk I gave at the 2nd Symposium of Neurosciences, Cognition and Society, of which Mateo was an organiser, and later contacted me to discuss research ideas and opportunities. I was immediately fascinated by his motivation and curiosity, and captivated by the very interesting questions he asked. Being aware of his qualities and enormous potential, I invited Mateo to work with me at my Lab at Universidad El Bosque, and he voluntarily worked between 2018 and 2021 on a project on voice and face perception and mate-choice.

Mateo has been working on his own research ideas, and we have often dicussed study designs and theory, as well as statistical methods and  programming.
